Quarantine Valentine

Why don't those two words rhyme? I feel that they should. Valenteen Quarantine or Valentine Quarantiine. Either way you say it, Valentine's Day is different this year. You may be wishing for romantic getaways, dinner without the kids, and a night on the town, but that may not be in the Valentine cards. However the current dilemma is playing out in your area, you can enjoy your night and each other.

Well, that’s what it means. It means that you have me, that I’m yours. It means come live your life with me. The only thing I ask is that you outlive me so I never live another day without you.-Beth Dutton

Start Planning Now

I am a planner, by trade and virtue. I live by my lists and feel great pleasure crossing things off those lists. As I write this, we have 4 weeks until Valentine's Day, so start to plan it now. Do you need the kids to have a night with Grandma and Grandpa? Will you need to plan everything for late night so you can put them to bed? Will you need to celebrate on the 13th since it is a Saturday and you have the next day off work? Think about those little details first so you can put your creativity into the night itself.

Tip #1-Set the Mood

Create a playlist of all of your favorite slow and romantic songs. Try to get at least 2 hours of music prepared for dinner and a few slow dances in the kitchen before dessert. Here are a few of my favorites:

*All of Me-John Legend

*Wild Horses-(I prefer The Sunday's version, but that's just me)

*Wild Horses-Bishop Briggs

*Holy-Justin Bieber

*Say You Won't Let Go-James Arthur

*Someone You Loved-Lewis Capaldi

*Iris-Goo Goo Dolls

*Shallow-Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper

*Meant to Be-Bebe Rexha and Florida Georgia Line

*Perfect-Ed Sheran (This is actually my ringtone whenever my husband calls me, *sigh*)

*Bless the Broken Road-Rascal Flatts

*Senorita-Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello (tell me this song doesn't make you want to dance real close and sexy?)

This is just a start. Spotify, Amazon, and Pandora all have playlists to help you in this endeavor.
